Through this series of paintings I was interested in developing the idea of 'narrative structures'. Many of the images stem from traveling in Turkey, particularly the theme of the mud bath. The subject is the communal gathering of people and the different ways in which they interact, often suggesting sexual or psychological undercurrents.
