Splintered
is a group of pieces exploring the use of colour and scale in sculpture.
They are influenced by archaic Greek and early Egyptian sculpture. The
Blue Men are a generalised humanity, depicting the idea of social group,
not specific individuals. The group in question are workers, which contrast
with the spiritual and metaphysical connotations of the colour blue.
